The 2nd International Conference on Sustainability in Natural and Built Environment (iCSNBE-2027), Dhaka, Bangladesh, will bring together international and national experts to explore global, regional,
and Bangladesh national sustainability policies, implementation, and future strategies.
This conference will be organised jointly by the North South University (NSU), Dhaka; Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Western Sydney University and the
Global Circle for Scientific, Technological and Management Research (GCSTMR), Australia.
Global sustainability actions have achieved important normative, technological, and institutional progress so far, but they have fallen short of delivering the scale and speed of transformation
required to secure environmental integrity and social equity. The coexistence of measurable gains and deepening global risks highlights the need to move beyond commitments toward integrated, accountable,
and inclusive action that aligns economic systems with planetary and human well-being.
Before the 1st conference in 2019 (iCSNBE-2019), in Dhaka, the rising emissions, growing awareness and adoption of sustainability frameworks, but insufficient implementation and systemic change
are notable (United Nations Sustainable Development Goal Report 2019). Post 2019, renewed global attention and larger climate pledges, faster renewable deployment and some SDG gains; but emissions still rise overall,
biodiversity commitments lag, and many goals are off-track. Progress is incremental, not transformative, requiring urgent acceleration to meet long-term sustainability goals (OECD Climate Action Monitor, 2025).
Sustainability is a topic encompassing all sectors of life. It requires ongoing monitoring and bringing innovative ways to ensure that the planet Earth can sustain the expected population indefinitely. This conference aims to achieve just that in the participation of the researchers, scientists, engineers, academics, policy makers, industrialists, government, and the public.
